codaplenty Posted 03/02/2012 @ 14:19

cheers kiddykid, been following your signings and you can be optimistic about the future. Have a great holiday in the sun although you will be upset to miss this proper wintry weather !!

codaplenty Posted 02/02/2012 @ 21:31

cambridge fans, you have got an excellent loan signing in Ryan Jackson from the Wombles, he played for us earlier in the season on loan and was mustard. Saw him on TV for his first game when we played Lincoln away and if I remember correct he scored 2 goals. He will definitely give your play off chances a boost!

codaplenty Posted 01/02/2012 @ 16:27

Hi kiddykid, hope you keepin well mate. Your nicely tucked in the play offs but as we all know so much will develop over the next couple of months. Fleetwood are more than good enough to win this league but if they finish in the play offs it becomes a lottery and thats when you get a team in form who can come through and win that second place spot. As has been said on here so many times there should be 3 up with 2 automatic places but the 'authorities' dont want to upset any of the league 2 clubs particularly those at the bottom, they know how hard it is for relegated teams to go straight back up.....is'nt that right wrexham/luton/york/grimsby/mansfield !

codaplenty Posted 01/02/2012 @ 14:37

well the transfer window has gone and Jamie Vardy is still at Fleetwood which is good news for the club and fans. Will be surprised/delighted if he is with us at the start of next season, got to say Andy Mangan has been in terrific form for a good while now and sure other teams are watching him, him and vardy play off each other so very well. Tamworth coming up at the weekend which will need another professional job to secure 3 points

codaplenty Posted 31/01/2012 @ 12:37

FGR123, cheers mate, it was always going to be a tough game, when we played you at home earlier in the season you were hard to break down. FGR are the longest serving team in the conference and long may it continue. Good luck

codaplenty Posted 30/01/2012 @ 15:44

BigDave, when Veira gets on a run he is liquid gold and just the tonic for the team. Never had a problem with any Wrexham fan giving a bit of stick, the more that comes our way the more we know we must be doing plenty right. Cheers son

codaplenty Posted 29/01/2012 @ 20:15

delboystag/mickramsandstag, you are clearly running into some good form, Paul Edwards on loan from ourselves should be a useful player for you. Unfortunately he was injured quite a bit with us but he is good at getting forward with plenty of experience. Not long before we play you at your place and how I would settle for half of the score from when we last played you in the league, it would be 1-2.5 ! Good luck for the play offs

codaplenty Posted 29/01/2012 @ 13:17

the last 2 champions of this league are doing incredibly well. Fantastic result by Crawley to win at Hull and equally impressive victory by Stevenage. This shows the standard of football from this league and what potential champions will look to aspire to -Fleetwood Football Club thats the target to aim for !

codaplenty Posted 28/01/2012 @ 17:01

what makes a champion team, never giving up, late late win against very difficult opponents. Fleetwood's away form is phenomenal and they deserve every credit that comes their way. Be interested to hear from FGR123 as to how he saw the game

codaplenty Posted 27/01/2012 @ 18:46

DubaiBoundRed, I never took myself for a wind up merchant -shame on me ! lloydero is taking it too personally and it should never go this far. This is what supporting our team does and we all see things differently and react accordingly. Life is too short, our ground will certainly not be big enough for when you lads visit us in april, the bummer is I will be in South Africa and not due back till the next day. I wish you well for the remainder of the season and may the best team whoever it is finish TOP

codaplenty Posted 26/01/2012 @ 15:09

belizehatter, I think we should expand our thoughts not just about football team's budgets but how exactly they are performing financially. Fleetwood have spent a few million over the last few years, mainly on the ground but a lot this season on the team which is evident for all to see. I would love to know how Fleetwood Football Club are managing their business, in other words profit and loss for the last year, or even the last 3/4 years. It is all Andy Pilleys money as far as we know but as I have said on here before he is no Paul Getty. Guess the problem is he owns the business ( football club and his energy company ) and as its a private company he does not have to disclose the figures ?

codaplenty Posted 26/01/2012 @ 12:39

FGR123, that was an excellent win by your team over Wrexham, incidentally I have scoured the posts over the last 2/3 days and seen no posts from any Wrexham fans over this defeat - wonder why ? perhaps they had no fans at the ground. Anyway to matters in hand, as hard as it was for Wrexham it will be equally as tough for Fleetwood , probably even more as you will well and truly have the 'bit between your team' I look forward to hearing your comments after the game and in particular how Fleetwood and Wrexham have shaped up against your team. Cheers mate

codaplenty Posted 25/01/2012 @ 10:28

grimsbyforever, I could'nt have put it more eloquently than you did my friend re away support -in fairness the best attendances at Fleetwood last year were when Grimsby/Wrexham/Luton were there along with York/Mansfield. Delboystag, believe it or not I was quite controlled in my comments ( well almost ) I expect to see plenty more digs at Fleetwood over the next few months it goes with the territory. Its a fantasic feeling to see Fleetwood at the top and come Sunday Wrexham could well be back up there and with an improved goal average. Tremendous attendance at home for a Tuesday night and a very comfortable win for the Cod Army. Braintree stuck to their guns but our passing was superb at times and Rose and Fowler were ace

codaplenty Posted 24/01/2012 @ 12:20

lloydero, shame more of your fans dont go to the home games, perhaps wrexham is not that interested in supporting its local club

codaplenty Posted 24/01/2012 @ 10:02

lloydero, interesting comment to say that Fletwood's away support is shameful -as has been said on this forum before, there are many many ex league clubs with a long tradition and history which Fleetwood will never be able to achieve and who are able to take a lot of supporters to away games. Wrexham have a population of 130,000 and struggle to get more than 4000 for home games. That is SHAMEFUL for a team top of the league and is just over 2.5% of the population. Compare that to Fleetwood with 26,000 population and we are averaging well over 6% ( the highest in this league by a considerable way ) We have a hardcore of away support who are tremendous, as commented on here by other teams. Its all relative my friend- just keep looking over your shoulder !

codaplenty Posted 22/01/2012 @ 10:41

Fleetwood continue to chase and hunt down the Welsh Dragon, no glory for the Cod Army but a job well done. Cracking game between Southport and Luton and Grimsby on fire and running into form at the right time. Kiddykid, your doing very well and looks like you have a good signing on board from Newcastle. Its all boiling up rather well with plenty more shocks and twists to come

codaplenty Posted 21/01/2012 @ 10:30

delboystag, good to see we are all loving each other again, well some more than others, for the benefit of thecodarmy I will be wearing a pink carnation and a white top hot, in fact I am singing this right now but who made it famous, clue before I was born and no funny remarks, well not more than 10 !

codaplenty Posted 20/01/2012 @ 19:47

quakerfan, please see the statement from the football conference absolving Fleetwood Town and any of their officials from the ALLEGED comments made regarding signing players. Feelings are obviously running high and for them to come out with this shows how concerned they are. Nothing more needs to be said except every fan wishes you well and we hope your team will be with this for next season

codaplenty Posted 20/01/2012 @ 14:34

delboystag, you have now taken over the mantle of Chief Winder Upper from Nellybabe. It has been well earned and fought for, now if only your Footballl team could achieve the same standards, naturally I mean on the football field !

codaplenty Posted 19/01/2012 @ 15:20

BigDave, spot on son. I have stood in the Kop and on the North Bank and still shouted for the reds and so far managed to avoid getting thumped, hoping I'm too old now ! Naturally I would do it again !

codaplenty Posted 19/01/2012 @ 15:16

codarmy, your on for Braintree, will be with my son. We are season ticket holders in the Parkside stand so can meet under the grandstand or in Jim;s bar, cheers mate

codaplenty Posted 19/01/2012 @ 10:05

great news for darlington fans and lets hope they can move forward from here. Best of luck apart from this saturday !

codaplenty Posted 19/01/2012 @ 10:01

codarmy, I love the passion you are showing for Fleetwood reminds me of myself when I was a young fella and I can tell you now I was much worse than you will ever be ( my claim to fame, being told by a gentleman in blue to leave Blackpool's ground last year after cheering too much for the away team - but who ? and by the way not bad for a 65 year old ! )As you may know I have watched Fleetwood since about 11 following home and away matches in my teens around the old Lancashire Combination which was joyous, Netherfield/Bacup Borough/Nelson/Morecambe/Chorley/Southport/Rossendale/Ashton/Marine/South Liverpool/Wigan Athletic, the common factor watching Fleetwood was we were at best average for many years and more times than not cr*p, well to be honest worse at times. A group of blokes/lads including myself went down to Highbury to clear ice from the pitch to enable a game to go ahead so I served my apprenticeship watching Fleetwood and we are now where we are. When you are over from Germany on leave and going to the next home game let me know and i will be delighted to buy you a pint. Nil desperandum mate

codaplenty Posted 18/01/2012 @ 11:53

codarmy, you are completely losing the plot and making a idiot stock of yourself. Dont take things so seriously son, there are experts on here who have an honours degree in winding people up and you have bitten hook line and sinker !

codaplenty Posted 18/01/2012 @ 09:48

good post BigDave, as we all know the more quips/digs other fans have the bigger the compliments, long may it continue eh. Interesting match against Motherwell yesterday, just shows the ambition of the club and desire to continually move forward and test ourselves with higher opposition. Cheers son

codaplenty Posted 16/01/2012 @ 20:31

darlo fans, its looking grimer by the day for you and we all just hope something can still be sorted out to save your club. A report at the weekend highlighted the disgraceful way your club has been run and it is an indictment on the football league/local council in failing to do a 'fit and proper' test on George Reynolds who 'bought' your club and then went spending money which he never had. Oh by the way Reynolds, criminal, jailed for safe cracking and burglary in the 50's and more recently a three stretch for tax fraud. The sobering part he's probably better than half the current chairmen around at the moment. God help us all

codaplenty Posted 16/01/2012 @ 17:06

delboystag, thought we had more than 11 midfielders so looks like we might be a bit weak in this area. No problems Mickey Mellon being Steve Evans in disguise except the real MM is a crackin guy who has got a tremendous squad all playing for each other. I remember last season there was a lot of jealousy towards Crawley and can quite honestly say I never had a problem with them. If Fleetwood can emulate Crawley and finish Champions it will be some achievement because Wrexham are looking so good at the moment.

codaplenty Posted 12/01/2012 @ 16:56

credit to Luton manager Brabin for being at the match the day after his dad had died. You know what, the more abuse he gets the more I like him

codaplenty Posted 12/01/2012 @ 11:01

beanmachine, 8 weeks to go before we play your lads at home on a Tuesday night. Got to say we have missed Rob Atkinson who after an indifferent start became the excellent centre back people said he was with a good game all round. He is almost back in training after breaking his ankle, would be great if he were to play against Grimsby. Do you think you will be in the play off positions by then ?

codaplenty Posted 11/01/2012 @ 14:32

delboystag, wont disagree with you and it does'nt sit that easy with me. However at the end of the day its not my money. If we are honest every club in the country would like to have a Chairman like ours. He has literally put his money where his mouth is, when he arrived in 2003 Fleetwood were in NW counties league, the ground had not improved since 1930, probably even earlier. What we have now is incredible, the guy runs his business from within the new grandstand, a lot of LOCAL people work there and full time jobs have been created, there is an air expectation and success is all around. We are living a dream at the moment and making the most of it.

codaplenty Posted 11/01/2012 @ 09:25

grimsbyforever, no doubt about you are building up a head of steam, good win away, also by Gateshead who are back in the mix and Luton, oaky I will take a 1-0 win anytime, whay say you. Kiddykid a bit of a surprise, what it just an off night ?

codaplenty Posted 11/01/2012 @ 09:22

A routine win in many ways and the score could easily have been doubled. Rose looked good in his debut and scored a nice goal, and it is easy to see why Fowler was so well thought of at Wrexham ( apart from asking for a transfer ! ) Vardy -well a second MOM award, another 2 quality goals and I guess a bit more on his price tag. Lets all enjoy

codaplenty Posted 10/01/2012 @ 16:21

Now then oaky me old mucker, last weekends exertions should not make any difference to Fleetwood at all, why should it with all the new players we have brought in ! Well pleased for your team, even more so when you think of all the doubting thomases around, good feeling is'nt it and Brabin must be doing something right - just dont score too many pal

codaplenty Posted 10/01/2012 @ 13:21

DubaiBoundRed, to answer your question - YES

codaplenty Posted 10/01/2012 @ 11:53

How forgetful of me, Fleetwood are apparently considering Broucard from York and guess what....yes another midfielder. The thing is lads I was a bit of a midfielder in my time so when I go to the match tonight I will have a word with the powers that be, good starting point Richard Brodie who spent all Sunday afternoon supping with my son in the pub !

codaplenty Posted 10/01/2012 @ 11:48

DubaiBoundRed, you were absolutely right about Fowler, I am totally bewildered by this. The fact that you are gutted speaks volumes for the player but we have so many midfielders that it is now becoming embarassing. Quite what the likes of Jamie McGuire/Keith Briggs/Anthony Barry/Jamie Milligan and recently signed Danny Rose make of this is anybodys guess. The money being spent is phenomenal and clearly we are the Manchester City of this league, I really wonder who else we will be signing in this transfer window about suffice to say that anything less than promotion will be a disaster, it has to be with the money being thrown around

codaplenty Posted 09/01/2012 @ 15:54

kiddykid, another good win by your lads and you are comfortably in the play offs, dark horse GTFC grimsbyforever you will be well pleased with your sides run and theres plenty of time. York well up there and Luton definitely getting their act together. Its all hotting up rather nicely

codaplenty Posted 09/01/2012 @ 15:50

welcome BigDave, good to see another Fleetwood fan on here, there are some good lads on this forum as you will already know - enjoy !

codaplenty Posted 09/01/2012 @ 14:45

aquahatter,I will blame the BSB authorities/league if darlo and kettering are allowed to go under. It makes a mockery of having a league programme which can become distorted by virtue of having points deducted because of other teams very sad demise. I know I harp on about this but Fleetwood were denied a BS North Title 2 years ago because of Farsley Celtics liquidation. How can it be fair with the knock on effects these situations cause. What stinks to high heaven is this would never be allowed to happen in the Premiership. Its having the sword of damocles hanging over all of us and the powers that be need to move in now and steady the ship

codaplenty Posted 08/01/2012 @ 16:46

great day at Fleetwood, harsh score line but Blackpool's finishing was top drawer and I wish them well in the Cup. We certainly did'nt look out of place and their keeper made a fantastic double save to keep the score down to 0-1 at half time. Think Blackpool and Fleetwood will have the same problems going forward, how to keep Matt Philips and Jamie Vardy respectively ! Now to the very important matter of Barrow on Tuesday in the real bread and butter and of course anything less than 3 points will be sweet music to Wrexham and Luton !

codaplenty Posted 30/10/2010 @ 19:50

Been watching Fleetwood for over 50 years and what we are achieving now is nothing short of fantastic. You can stick the premiership, get involved with your local clubs where there is a wonderful community spirit and where you can identify with the players, officials and of course the fans. The COD ARMY march on

codaplenty Posted 04/08/2010 @ 12:25

Real sorry to see Jamie leave FTFC, he was a terrific player for us and I wish him well. Disappointed to see no comment on FTFC website wishing him all the best ?

codaplenty Posted 02/05/2010 @ 21:11

Fleetwood deservedly beat Droysden to march into the final. The game was a wonderful advert for non league football, sympathy for the bloods to lose in a penalty shoot out but not many fans would deny this is the least Fleetwood deserve. Bring on Alfreton who I know will give us a very hard game. The cod army march on!!!!

codaplenty Posted 25/04/2010 @ 20:39

Congratulations and well done to Southport on becoming Blue Sqaure North Champions. Best of luck next season, I sincerely hope Fleetwood will be joining you so we will then have two Lancashire teams in the highest rung of non league football in th UK

codaplenty Posted 31/03/2010 @ 18:16

well said matatsowey but its purgatory at this stage of the season with both sets of fans hoping the other team loses and our own team win. Incidentally have you seen the ruling from the FA re Chester City's results. They have upheld the Football Conference decision to expunge Chester's results. The appeal was ruled to be out of time. Does this mean that if the FTFC appeal is in time ( which it most certainly is )the results achieved against Chester will stand. There could be another extraodinary twist to come !

codaplenty Posted 26/03/2010 @ 07:42

To carify my earlier post, when I said both teams deserve to be promoted I meant port and FTFC

codaplenty Posted 26/03/2010 @ 07:32

Hope you followed FTFC game on our codcast last night Kns There was some great banter with port fans and it was a fantastic game. Unbelievable result in the end and Celtic game us one hell of a game. Guess you would call this a tough away game - and we have more. Without doubt both clubs deserve to be promoted

codaplenty Posted 24/03/2010 @ 17:03

Kns, what a predictable and boring response. if it was the other way round I would expect you to complain, and you know what I would agree with you. The Blue Square have handled this disgracefully. Are you telling me a way could not be found to enable Farsley to complete their fixtures, 80% of the season's games have been completed and we are talking about a very small number of games to be played. It stinks and it is not a level playing field - oh yes no doubt we have plenty of hard games coming up, just like yours at Gloucester last night. I am certainly not counting any chickens

codaplenty Posted 20/03/2010 @ 17:27

scouseport last 7 games W 2 D 3 L 2 FLEETWOOD Last 7 games W 5 D 0 L 2 Momentum with Fleetwood, you will be hoping Blue Square deduct more points from us, sorry read that as STEALING !

codaplenty Posted 22/02/2010 @ 15:49

Credit to Gainsborough for an excellent win, Fleetwood have had a tremendous run of late so we now have to pick ourselves up and start again. There will be plenty more twists and turns but I think its going to be between Fleetwood or Southport for the top spot

codaplenty Posted 21/01/2010 @ 15:30

Bisto I could'nt agree more, perhaps they dont have internet connections in Southport. However if Kns and matatsy do, suggest you go on the Fleetwood website and see the goal of the season from Fleetwood skipper, from inside his own half - just as good as David Beckham's at Wimbledon when Becks was an innocent !

codaplenty Posted 07/01/2010 @ 17:07

Now kn4sfc you need to look on Fleetwood Football club's web site and there you will see plans for a new £4 million stand to go up on the park side of the ground. When completed we will then have NEW stands on all four sides. Incidentally I had a season ticket for Man Utd for over 16 years and have packed in totally disillusioned with the Glazers but I am getting enormous pleasure from watching Fleetwood and you know what kns4sfc I wish all non league clubs good luck as I am sick to the teeth of the greed of all the big clubs !!

codaplenty Posted 03/01/2010 @ 11:54

matatsowey so worried you have a bad cough aha aha aha aha get plenty of rest and come and see a quality team in Fleetwood - get well soon

codaplenty Posted 02/01/2010 @ 12:03

kns4sfc oh dear dear dear.. actions speak louder than words. Southport were 2nd best in every department and I was not impressed by any one in your team. An excellent TEAM performance from Fleetwood in front of a terrific crowd ( thought you would have a lot more supporters there ) on a magnificent pitch and probably the best ground in the Blue Square North. We will certainly kick on from here...but will Southport bottle it again. HAPPY NEW YEAR

codaplenty Posted 26/12/2009 @ 21:11

where are you southport fans after your emphatic win? A bad day for us and a pretty good day for you. AS the score line suggests cant be too many excuses so well done. Roll on new years day and a chance to redeem ourselves

codaplenty Posted 20/12/2009 @ 19:22

well kns4sfc and matatsowey I am looking at the table and we are slowly fixing you in our sights, delighted to hear your passion for Southport and I tell you both games against you should be belters. We are in good form and yesterday Stafford made it hard but a champion team never gives up and we deserved the win. Just a thought there is a team with a few games in hand on all of us called Stalybridge... watch this space eh HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you both

codaplenty Posted 16/12/2009 @ 17:12

Crackin win by Fleetwood at Northwich last night which sets us nicely for the 2 head to heads with you. We are scoring plenty and giving nothing away at the back, matatsowey are you getting worried because if not you should be. Gainsborough probably did you a favour last night... but i'd rather still be in the second round !!

codaplenty Posted 06/12/2009 @ 16:06

Heh matatsowey I cant wait for the two games over the festive period and I just hope you will be the more disappointed ! Quietly confident for our promotion chances but LONG LONG way to go Roll on New Years Day and I reckon Fleetwoods gate will be around 1600

codaplenty Posted 30/11/2009 @ 17:06

Nice to see the comments on Fleetwood. We have a very ambitious chairman who has put serious money into the club.13 junior teams plus reserve and youth teams, attendances averaging 1000+ and at every home game loads of little kids with their mums and dads . I has a season ticket at Man Utd for over 15 years and now go to every home game and love it. The quality in BSN is very good and it will be a crackin team(s) that get promoted - good luck to every one
