Newport County v Kidderminster

Dean Holdsworth's Newport County prepare for the visit of Kidderminster Harriers to Spytty Park as they look to record their first win of the new campaign.

Former Kidderminster defender Lee Baker is expected to miss the visit of his old side as he continues his recovery from a foot injury.

However, fellow former Harriers players Paul Bignot, Sam Foley, Robbie Matthews and Darryl Knights are all in contention for Saturday's clash.

Looking ahead to the clash, Baker told the South Wales Argus: "It's been a nightmare for me since I got here.

"First the glandular fever and now this, which is taking a lot longer than it should to clear up.

"It's ridiculously frustrating, particularly as I'll miss the game on Saturday, which was the one I looked for when the fixtures came out."

Harriers will again be without midfielder John Finnigan, who is recovering from a recurring calf injury.

Mark Albrighton faces a late fitness test on a hamstring problem, while Nick Wright and Callum Gittings are expected to recover from knocks picked up against Wrexham in midweek.

Harriers' assistant manager Gary Whild told the Kidderminster Shuttle: "There's always some added spice when you play a side with a few old players.

"It was the same at York with Duane Courtney and David McDermott and I'm sure it will be like that at Newport County.

"Obviously, there's quite a few at Newport. Robbie Matthews has played quite a bit, but Darryl Knights has been on the bench and Lee Baker has had his problems.

"It will be like Wrexham, they will have a big and vociferous crowd and we'll have to deal with that.

"But we expect every game to be tough in this division and Newport will be no different.

"They've not won a game but to get a draw at Luton shows they're a good side."
