Tony Platten and Mick Tait
Blyth Spartans manager Mick Tait has swooped to re-sign fan favourite Richard Pell from Blue Square North rivals Alfreton Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old defender left the club in the summer due to work commitments in Lincolnshire but after finding new employment in Newcastle, he is now able to rejoin the club where he was the player of the season for 2008/09.
Chairman Tony Platten said: "It was a great disappointment to lose Richard at the start of the season due to his full time work relocation to Lincolnshire.
"We are delighted that, due to him securing a new job in Newcastle, we have been able negotiate a mutually acceptable arrangement with Richard and Alfreton to once again secure his services for Blyth.
"Richard delivered outstanding performances throughout the 2008/09 season, particularly in the memorable FA Cup run.
"Manager Mick Tait did an outstanding job negotiating the deal and I am sure that supporters will give him a rousing welcome back to the club."
