Nicky Law
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has finally received a welcome boost to his beleaguered squad with skipper Kyle McFadzean set to return for this Saturday's rearranged Blue Square North home fixture with Hyde United.
The Reds were forced to sit out last Saturday's scheduled home fixture against Hyde due to a saturated Impact Arena playing surface.
The two clubs are now set to try again after Hyde's scheduled opponents on Saturday, Workington, won through to an FA Trophy first round tie at home to Nuneaton Town on the same day.
That freed Hyde up and the Tamesiders will arrive at the Impact Arena on Saturday looking for points to haul themselves away from the relegation places, as well as trying to erase the memory of a 5-1 thrashing on their own turf by the Reds three months ago.
Law also has striker Liam Hearn and on-loan midfield player Lloyd Kerry fully fit for the Hyde fixture and is hoping Anton Brown will be back for the game at Solihull Moors the following weekend.
The Reds boss has Anthony Howell (one game) and Aden Flint (the first of three) suspended and will still be without Matt Wilson (ligament damage), Richard Pell (hamstring) and Kris Bowler (groin) but he bolstered his squad with three more signings last Friday.
Former Manchester City youth team goalkeeper Laurence Matthewson has rejoined the Reds for a third time having not played for anyone this season.
Midfield player Carl Palmer, 30, has joined from UniBond Premier Division side King's Lynn where he has made ten appearances and scored twice this season after joining the Linnets from Hednesford Town.
He has proven Blue Square North pedigree having also played for Stafford Rangers, Redditch United and Nuneaton Borough.
The third player to join is former Sheffield United youth defender Ben Starosta, 22. He moved to Tamworth and has also had loan spells with Brentford, Bradford City, Aldershot Town and Darlington.
The Reds have also served seven days' notice on an as yet unnamed Blue Square North defender and Law has several more avenues of interest to follow up.
