AFC Telford booked their place in the play-off final despite a gallant effort from Alfreton Town at the Impact Arena on Sunday.
The Bucks banked on their 2-0 advantage from the first leg as they were pushed all the way by Nicky Law's men.
The encounter looked like it was going to be one of those classic comebacks when defender Tony Butler's header and Anton Brown's shot effectively cancelled out the scoreline from the reverse fixture inside 16 minutes.
However, just three minutes later, Danny Edwards got the Bucks back into the game before Danny Carey-Bertram levelled matters going into the half-time interval.
In the second spell, the goalmouth action continued with Paul Clayton firing the hosts back in front immediately after the restart. But Carl Rodgers was on hand to quash the Reds' celebrations as he evened matters.
Anthony Howell handed the advantage back to Town from the penalty spot, but the visitors held on to progress courtesy of a 5-4 aggregate.
United will play Gateshead in the final at the International Arena on Friday night.
