Stevenage Borough

Stevenage v Kettering

Kettering are the visitors to table-topping Stevenage Borough on Saturday in the Blue Square Premier league.

The Poppies are targeting a win that will keep them above the play-off chasing pack while three points for Boro will see them open up a four point lead on Oxford United, providing they slip up.

Kettering come into the tie on the back of a 2-1 win over Ebbsfleet United while Stevenage will be full of confidence after beating Vauxhall Motors 6-0 in their last encounter.

The last times the two sides met it finished with a point apiece after a 1-1 draw but on form, Stevenage will be in confident mood with Kettering only winning four of their 13 games against teams in the top half of the table, drawing four and losing five.

Stevenage will have to do without Scott Laird, who is serving the second of his two game suspension with captain Mark Roberts set to fill in at left back. Michael Bostwick returns after missing the FA Trophy clash with Vauxhall Motors due to family reasons with Tim Sills and Darragh Ryan both tipped to make their debuts.

Kettering are expected to give striker Kwesi Appiah a start after he joined on loan from Peterborough alongside new midfielder Jordan Hatfield but Anthony Robinson unavailable due to suspension.
