Forest Green 2-1 Cambridge

Two goals inside the last five minutes saw Forest Green Rovers rally to claim a 2-1 win over fellow mid-table outfit Cambridge United.

The teams began the day level on points and the game remained even on the scoreboard too until a manic last 15 minutes.

It was the home side who had the better of the early exchanges and created a number of half-chances.

Jake Thomson nearly broke the deadlock when his 30-yard drive took a deflection before crashing into the Cambridge crossbar and that was as close as Rovers could come in the opening period.

Dave Hockaday's men began the second half strongly but where unable to convert pressure into goals.

The hosts look set to pay for their inability to find the back of the net when Eddie Oshodi brought down Tom Shaw in the box in the 68th minute.

Rossi Jarvis stepped up to take the penalty but his unconvincing effort was saved by Rovers 'keeper Sam Russell who has now saved three penalties in his last seven games.

Despite remaining on the back foot, the U's did find the back of the net in the 75th minute when Luke Berry tucked the ball into the bottom right corner of Russell's net.

The goal appeared to galvanise the home side and they equalised eight minutes later - and in style too.

Replacement Tommy Wright set substitute Michael Uwezu through and the Nigerian made no mistake, producing a clinical finish to beat Danny Naisbitt in the Cambridge goal.

Not content with a draw, the Rovers late show continued as Wright turned from provider to goal scorer minutes later as he volleyed home to put the hosts in front and secure the three points.
