Cambridge Utd 3-0 Grays Athletic

Cambridge United extended their unbeaten run to ten games with a 3-0 victory over Grays Athletic at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts made a flying start to the game and opened their account on the half-hour mark when striker Danny Crow collected a pass from Lee Phillips before firing into the bottom-left corner from 12 yards.

Cambridge kept piling on the pressure and they doubled their advantage seven minutes later as Crow converted another Phillips pass for his second of the afternoon.

The U's should have further extended their lead just two minutes later but Jai Reason saw his effort from outside the box hit the post.

The contest was effectively over in the 63rd minute when Crow popped up again to score his and Cambridge's third of the afternoon with a half-volleyed strike from the edge of the area.

Cambridge bookings: None.

Grays bookings: Cissoko, Clarey, Harvey.

Ref: D Ford (Reading).
