Dean Holdsworth
Newport County manager Dean Holdsworth wants a big response from his players against Tamworth on Tuesday night.
The Exiles lost 1-0 at Darlington in their season opener on Saturday and Holdsworth wants them to channel their disappointment into a positive result when they host the Lambs at Spytty Park.
"I don't feel we got what we deserved at Darlington and that should be a big motivator for the players," he told the South Wales Argus.
"We played a side who had come down from League Two and it was a bit of a wake-up call for us on Saturday, to be honest.
"In the second half we were camped in their half, we battered them, but we needed to be more clinical in front of goal.
"I was delighted with the second half but disappointed we came away with nothing, a point would have been a fair result.
"We must take the disappointment into Tuesday night and put it right. Spytty Park has been a fortress for us and we have to make sure that continues."
Striker Sam Foley is back in the frame after recovering from a thigh strain but Wayne Turk (knee) and Lee Barker (foot) miss out. County have not lost at home in all competitions since March 2009.
Tamworth are top of the Blue Square Bet Premier table ahead of kick-off thanks to their 4-2 home victory over Eastbourne Borough at the weekend.
Andy Atkin remains a doubt with an ankle problem while it remains to be seen whether Neil MacKenzie, Jake Sheridan and Kyle Perry will play after picking up knocks.
