Michael Rankine
York City secured their first three-point haul of the season after breezing past Altrincham at Bootham Crescent.
The win was well deserved for the home side, who dominated the game but were made to wait for the breakthrough.
Michael Rankine was the man to open the scoring in the 70th minute when he rifled home a left-footed shot after a neat lay-off by Michael Gash on the edge of the box.
Richard Brodie robbed visiting defender Marc Joseph of the ball five minutes later and the Altrincham man brought him down inside the area, with Brodie slotting home the spot-kick himself.
The cherry was put on the cake in the final minute of stoppage time when Rankine completed his brace by turning quickly on the six-yard line to beat Robins goalkeeper Stuart Coburn at his near post.
