Matthew Blinkhorn
Matthew Blinkhorn's stoppage time winner handed York City a 2-1 win over Stockport County on Saturday.
The struggling Hatters looked on course for a shock victory via Danny Rowe's powerful effort on 52 minutes. However, substitutes Jamie Reed and Blinkhorn struck with six minutes to go to save the Minstermen's blushes at Bootham Crescent.
Victory leaves Gary Mill's outfit in fourth place on the Blue Square Bet Premier table with 62 points - 11 behind leaders Fleetwood and 28 more than 19th-placed County, who are a point above the drop zone.
The visitors had some decent chances early on and had a strong penalty shout turned down when John Nolan took a tumble in the 12th minute.
After a goalless first half, Jason Walker headed over for York before Elliott broke the deadlock seven minutes into the second period. Rowe smashed the ball home after getting on the end of a flick on following a long clearance from goalkeeper Ian Ormson.
City then nearly equalised on 71 minutes as Blinkhorn's header beat Ormson but not the post.
They did, however, get their reward when Reed slotted in on 83 minutes before Blinkhorn headed in the decider off a corner deep into optional time.
York bookings: Smith, Reed, McLaughlin.
Stockport bookings: Ormson.
