Mansfield 4-2 Salisbury

Mansfield Town came out on top of a six-goal thriller with Salisbury City at Field Mill on Saturday afternoon.

The home side stormed their way to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Jon Challinor and Jon Shaw in the first 37 minutes of the encounter.

Reece Connolly made it 2-1 just before half-time to set up an interesting second period. However, Kyle Perry made it 3-1 in the 75th minute after some cagey play from both sides.

Town looked to be cruising towards the three points before Ben Adelsbury made it 3-2 in the last few seconds of regular time to hand the visitors some hope of grabbing a draw.

However, Rob Duffy killed off those hopes with a strike in injury-time, ensuring that the Stags kept their play-off hopes alive.

Louis Briscoe was arguably the best player on the park for the Stags, using the width to his advantage and terrorising the City defence from start to finish.

Mansfield move on to 58 points with the victory in seventh place, while Salisbury drop down to 17th, not too far off the relegation places.
