Luton Town 2-1 Oxford United

Oxford United dropped off the top of the Blue Square Premier standings following their 2-1 defeat to Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday.

Matt Green's second-half strike looked to have given the visitors the three points before injury-time goals from George Pilkington and Keith Keane snatched the win for the Hatters.

U's substitute Green gave his side the lead in the 72nd minute when he blasted the ball into the back of the net from right in front after latching onto Simon Clist's header across goal.

It seemed as if Chris Wilder's charges were on their way to yet another victory when Pilkington's injury-time header from a corner took a deflection and left keeper Ryan Clarke with no chance.

And things got worse for the visitors two minutes later when they failed to deal with Keane's corner and the ball went straight into the back of the net to give Richard Money's troops a valuable three points.

However, a dampener was put on the Hatters' victory when Keane was given his marching orders for over-celebrating the winner.

Luton bookings: Keane, Kovacs.

Sent Off: Keane (90).

Oxford United bookings: Potter.
