Bank Holiday North Preview

It's going to be busy Bank Holiday weekend for teams in the Blue Square Bet North with fixtures scheduled for Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon.

Blyth Spartans will be aiming to record their first win of the new campaign when second-placed Alfreton Town make the trip to Croft Park.

The Spartans find themselves languishing near the foot of the table with two points from four matches, while Alfreton will be targeting a fifth straight victory in the hope of leapfrogging AFC Telford into first place in the standings.

Eastwood Town have yet to pick up their first points of new campaign ahead of the visit of high-flying Corby Town to Coronation Park.

Paul Cox's Badgers currently occupy 20th position in the Blue Square Bet North standings, while the Steelmen sit in fourth place after recording three wins and a draw from their opening four fixtures.

Gainsborough Trinity will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when third placed Workington make the trip to the Northolme.

Trinity recorded an opening day victory over Worcester but went on to suffer three straight defeats, while the Reds have won all four of their opening four games.

Simon Weaver's Harrogate Town prepare for the visit of newly promoted Boston United as they look to return to winning ways.

The Sulphurites suffered a 2-1 defeat at Workington in midweek, while Boston slumped to their first defeat of the new season against fellow newcomers Nuneaton in midweek.

Hinckley United play host to Dave Pace's Droylsden at De Montford Park, while strugglers Hyde FC entertain Ilkeston Town at Ewen Fields.

Kevin Wilkin's Nuneaton Town play host to Stalybridge Celtic at Liberty Way as they look to keep their unbeaten record intact.

The Boro beat Boston United 2-1 at York Street in midweek, while Stalybridge find themselves sitting in midtable following a 3-1 defeat to Vauxhall Motors at Bower Fold on Tuesday.

Bottom-of-the-table Redditch United can expect a stern test when high-flying AFC Telford United visit the Valley Stadium.

Redditch have yet to pick up their first points of the new season, while the Bucks are sitting at the top of the standings on goal difference.

Solihull Moors will be seeking to extend their 100 per cent home record on Saturday for the visit of Gloucester City.

Bob Faulkner's side find themselves sitting in 10th place after a 2-0 win against Eastwood Town in midweek, while Gloucester sit in 17th place with three points from their opening four fixtures.

Stafford Rangers will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run to four games when Worcester City visit Marston Road on Saturday.

Chris Brindley's Rangers beat Ilkeston Town 2-0 at New Manor Ground on Tuesday, while Worcester occupy sixth place in the league standings following a 3-2 win against Hinckley on Monday evening.

Carl Macauley's Vauxhall Motors will be hoping for more of the same when new boys Guiseley make the trip to Motassist Arena.

The Motors recorded their first win of the new campaign in midweek, while the Lions find themselves sitting in 12th position following a goalless draw against Blyth Spartans in midweek.
