Saturday's Blue Square North Preview

Blue Square North leaders Southport will be desperate for maximum points when they travel to high-flying Droyslden on Saturday.

The Sandgrounders are a single point clear of Fleetwood Town at the summit and can ill-afford a slip-up at Butcher's Arms.

Nevertheless, they should back themselves considering they enjoy a 17-point advantage over their opponents.

The second-placed Cod Army will also do battle on the road as they visit eight-placed Ilkeston at Highbury Stadium.

Naturally, Micky Mellon's charges will be equally determined to get the result, which could send them back on top depending on Southport's weekend fortunes.

Hinckley United and Stalybridge will look to strengthen their push for the play-off's when they clash with Gainsborough and Corby respectively.

Both teams are playing away from home with the Knitters two points off fifth-place, while the Badgers are eight points off the pace.

Working currently occupy the final play-off place and they could leapfrog fourth-placed Droylsden should they beat AFC Telford at Borough Park.

At the other end of the table, Redditch, who are just about safe from relegation provided they don't concede heavily in their final three games, will look to settle the matter when they visit Hyde at Ewen Fields.

The Tigers find themselves in 17th position on the standings and should be keen to finish the campaign strongly with five games remaining.
