Saturday's Blue Square North Preview

League leaders Southport prepare to take on fifth-placed Corby Town at Haig Avenue on Saturday, while play-off chasers Fleetwood Town travel to fourth-placed Alfreton Town.

Alfreton boss Nicky Law is targeting a return to winning ways after his side's FA Trophy exit in midweek.

The Reds boss and his side face two tough games in quick succession starting with the visit of title favourites Fleetwood Town.

He told the club's offcial website: "We have to make sure we have the desired response to going out of the Trophy, but there can't be any more motivation required for the next two games.

"They will both seriously test us to the limit but the players should be up for these games. If we can achieve a good points haul from the next two fixtures it will get us back on track.

"We now have to shake ourselves down and get on with trying to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

"The Fleetwood fixture is a severe test for us, but one we are relishing and it will help us regain our sharpness quickly."

Fleetwood goalkeeper Craig Dootson will not play against former club Alfreton due to transfer clause in his deal.

Dootson told Fleetwood's official website: "It's disappointing they won't let me play.

"I was establishing myself in the side and looking for a third clean sheet. Danny (Hurst) will do well on Saturday so I run the risk of loosing the shirt.

"On the other hand, if Danny keeps a clean sheet then the team is another step nearer the play-offs and the top spot."

Third-placed Droylsden prepare for the visit of 14th-placed Hyde United to Butcher's Arms as they look to cut the gap on league leaders Southport.

Strugglers Farsley Celtic will be looking to distance themselves from the dreaded drop zone with a winning result against 10th-placed AFC Telford at Throstle Nest.

Gloucester City could leapfrog Gainsborough Trinity out of the drop zone and into relative safety with a victory at the Corinium Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers currently find themsleves sitting in 20th place in the League standings with 15 points from 16 games, while Gainsborough sit in 18th place with 16 points from 18 games.

Meanwhile, Southport boss Liam Watson expects to have a full squad to choose from when Corby Town visit Haig Avenue.

Michael Powell returns to contention after a ban, while Paul Barratt is available for selection after completing a loan spell at Hyde United.
