Saturday's Blue Square North Preview

Blue Square North leaders Southport will look to avenge the defeat inflicted upon them by Ilkeston Town in August when they play host to Kevin Wilson's side on Saturday.

The Sandgrounders are currently on a five game league and cup winning streak and in fine form but must do without Ashley Winn and Kevin Lee, who are serving one match bans while Rob Marsh-Evans has one game of his three match ban left to serve. Alan Moogan and Robbie Booth are set to replace Winn and Lee.

Watson told the Southport Visiter: "Saturday is not about revenge. We are not heading into it trying to get revenge on Ilkeston Town but it is more about making it up to ourselves and the fans."

Second-placed Droylsden take on an in-form Stalybridge side, who are on an eleven game unbeaten run. With all four of the play-off sides on 31 points, it is a match the Bloods will not want to lose.

They will have six less players to choose from though after the club cleared out some of their first-teamers including Steve Pickford but they have worked quickly to replenish their stocks with the likes of Paul Phillips coming in. Tony Gray is expected to return to action after succumbing to a knee injury

Celtic are likely to handed a start to new goalkeeper David Carnell.

Alfreton Town have a chance to secure three points as they travel to struggling Hinckley. They are only behind Droylsden on goal difference and six points behind Southport and are themselves on a five-match unbeaten run

Alfreton's assistant manager Russ O'Neill told This is Derbyshire: "We are in and around where we want to be but it is still very tight around the top of the table. Southport will be looking over their shoulder with every game that goes by but, fair play to them, they are doing really well at the moment."

"Hinckley is always a tough game for us, whenever we go there. But we will be ready for it and looking for the three points."

Alfreton will be without Anton Brown with a bruised calf, and Matt Wilson, who has a hip injury. Liam Hearn should start after overcoming a hamstring strain. Captain Kyle McFadzean will be away on international duty with England C and will therefore not feature.

Eight goals adrift of Alfreton Town, Corby Town, can't rest on their laurels as they welcome Workington to Rockingham Triangle. Midfielder Brett Solkhon will play no part as he is sidelined with a knee injury but want-away Joe Francis could find himself in the starting line-up with Gavin Strachan also out.

Eastwood Town are depleted ahead of their visit to Blyth Spartans with Paul Cox having to make do without Peter Knox, Danny Holland, Marc Smith, Anton Foster, Mark Hume and Jimmy Turner

Cox told the club's official website: "The remainder of the team need to work hard to get a good result on Saturday we will be travelling up there on Friday so the lads can be fully prepared".

At the other end of the table third-from-bottom Farsley Celtic host Solihull Moors with Celtic boss Neil Parsley hoping for a solid performance.

He told Farsley Today: "The results haven't gone for us but all in all the performances have been good and I think if we play like that, with all due respect to Solihull and the other sides, it will be too much for the teams who aren't as high placed as Corby and Eastwood. The standard has been set and we have to match it which isn't an easy feat because we have been playing so well."

Vauxhall Motors, in 21st spot face a tricky test away to AFC Telford. The Bucks have endured an inconsistent season but are in a far better position than their opposition in 10th place.

Carl Rodgers, Chris Nurse and Andy Brown are all injury doubts and Rob Smith is hoping at least one of them will be fit to play.

Smith told the Shropshire Star: "We'll take a look at all three of them right at the death tomorrow and make a decision then."

Elsewhere, bottom-club Harrogate Town will see their match against Gainsborough as a six-pointer as a victory over Trinity could see them move out of the relegation zone.
