Saturday's Blue Square North Preview

Droylsden will be looking to add to their one-point lead at the top of the table, while fellow high-flyers Eastwood Town and Southport also take to the road this weekend.

Nicky Law's Alfreton Town can expect a stern examination when AFC Telford United visit the Impact Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides are level on points at this stage of the campaign but the hosts will be in good spirits after picking up seven points from a possible nine.

Defender Matt Wilson has recovered from a groin strain and play some part in the weekend's fixture.

Telford manager Rob Smith has strengthened his squad ahead of Saturday's clash by bringing in three new players.

Defensive midfielder Gavin Hurren and forward Stuart Nicholson join on respective one-month loans from Blue Square Premier outfit Tamworth.

The Bucks have also signed former Kidderminster, Torquay and Stevenage striker Iyesden Christie.

13th-placed Blyth Spartans prepare to take on strugglers Solihull Moors at Croft Park after playing to a 1-1 draw at Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday evening.

Fleetwood Town are currently on a three-match unbeaten run heading into Saturday's clash against newcomers Corby Town.

Mid-week signing Claus Jorgensen is poised to make his Highbury debut after playing the full 90 minutes in Tuesday's 2-0 win over strugglers Farsley Celtic.

Kettering Striker Gareth Seddon also joined the Fishermen in midweek and managed to find the back of the net.

Corby boss Graham Drury is expecting a stern test from Fleetwood this weekend and has doubts over the availability of midfielder Gavin Strachan.

Strachan limped off with a foot injury in the 1-1 draw against Hinckley on Wednesday evening and is a major doubt.

Mid-table Gainsborough Trinity play host to third-placed Southport at The Northolme, while newcomers Gloucester City take on 17th-placed Workington at The Corinium Stadium.

19th-placed Harrogate Town prepare for the visit of 18th-placed Redditch United after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of league leaders Droylsden on Monday evening.

The Sulphurites conceded five goals in the defeat at Butcher's Arms and manager Simon Weaver will be missing the services of defender Leon Scott, who serves a one-match suspension for his sending off at Southport on 29 August.

Stafford Rangers will be hoping for a reversal of fortunes when second-placed Eastwood Town visit Marston's Arena on Saturday afternoon.

On-loan Derby defender Jermaine Johnson is poised to make his home debut but midfielders Jake Moult and Levi Reid are rated doubtful after picking up knocks in the midweek defeat at Southport.

Fellow midfielders Ross Davidson and Luke Morgan are also missing, meaning manager Brindley will have to field some of his youngsters and fringe players.

Eastwood Town have brought in winger Paris Simmons this week as manager Paul Cox looks to maintain his side's momentum.

Cox is also looking to strengthen other areas of his squad in a bid to create competition for first-team places.

He told Eastwood Today: "At the moment, the depth of the squad isn't good enough to put pressure on the lads who are starting each week.

"It's not a case of the players necessarily taking their positions for granted, more a subconscious thing which can creep into their game.

"So while it's been hard to bring many players in up to now I'm hopeful more will become available soon.

"I need players who are good enough to go straight into the team if required and not have to adjust to this level of football."
