Tuesday's Blue Square North preview

With just four Blue Square North fixtures scheduled for Tuesday evening, Boston United and Worcester City will have the chance to close the gap on the play-off places.

Blyth Spartans v Boston Utd

Blyth Spartans have found themselves hovering dangerously close to the dreaded drop zone of late and will be keen to collect all three points when the Pilgrims visit Croft Park.

The Spartans will hand a debut to defender Jeff Forsyth, who has joined from Halesowen for the remainder of the season.

Adrian Webster has returned from Finland and has been cleared to play.

Blyth can expect a stern test though, as Boston will be in high spirits following their 2-1 win over in-form AFC Telford United on Saturday afternoon.

Blue SQ have given the visitors odds of 9/1 on a 2-1 victory.

Nuneaton v Worcester

High-flying Nuneaton Borough play host to fellow promotion chasers Worcester City at Liberty Way as they look to maintain their play-off spot.

Nuneaton are currently sitting in fifth place on the Blue Square North table while Worcester trail them by seven points in ninth place.

Worcester will not have Jonny Harkness in their travelling squad after his loan spell from Blue Square Premier side Kidderminster Harriers came to an end.

Blue SQ have odds of 11/2 on the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

Stalybridge v Southport

Stalybridge Celtic will be looking to inflict another defeat on a faltering Southport side on Tuesday evening.

Southport have lost their last three matches and have subsequently slipped from second place down to fourth.

Celtic will be sweating over the fitness of Steve Payne and Barrie Keeling, but otherwise, the squad is currently suspension free.

Southport are currently looking at welcoming back Paul Barratt from injury, giving them a fully fit squad for Tuesday with no suspension worries.

Blue SQ have odds of 12/1 on this match ending in a 2-2 draw.

Vauxhall Motors v Tamworth

Relegation-threatened Vauxhall Motors have two games and will need to start winning soon if they hope to lift themselves out of the drop zone.

They can expect a stern test from Gary Mills' Lambs, who will be focused on getting back to winning ways following an embarrassing defeat on the weekend.

Lambs boss Gary Mills said: "I'm gutted for everyone connected with Tamworth FC.

"We've got to bounce back quickly, but it's too easy to say forget this one and look ahead straight away as it's hard to explain exactly what went wrong after how we've played recently.

"We need to sit down and work out why it happened and learn from it."

Blue SQ have odds of 6/1 on this encounter ending in a 1-1 draw.
