Saturday's Blue Square North preview

League leaders Kettering Town entertain high-flying Stalybridge Celtic in what is sure to be another exciting weekend of Blue Square North football.

AFC Telford v Leigh RMI

AFC Telford have the opportunity of moving into second place on the Blue Square North table when they face struggling Leigh RMI.

United have been in fine form this season and a push for automatic promotion is not out of their reach.

Leigh, on the other hand, have a battle on their hands if they are to avoid relegation and it looks highly unlikely that they will be able to leave New Bucks Head with anything.

The Bucks have a strong attack and will look to pin Leigh back in the opening exchanges. Expect a high scoring game if form has its way.

Blue SQ have odds of 4/11 for AFC Telford to win the match.

Boston United v Nuneaton

Boston have seen their chances of climbing out of Blue Square North slowly disappear as they now sit 24 points off top spot going into the clash with promotion hopefuls Nuneaton.

Borough, however, are still in the running to gain promotion as they currently sit 14 points off top spot.

The Pilgrims have one of the highest scoring rates in the league and will look to utilise that statistic when they come up against a defensively strong Nuneaton side.

All signs point to a close encounter, with both side's wary of exposing themselves, especially given the Pilgrims goal tally.

Blue SQ have odds of 13/5 for the match to end in a draw.

Burscough v Solihull Moors

Burscough will hope the weather plays its part, following the midweek postponement of the Tamworth game, when they face Solihull Moors at Victoria Park.

Solihull will enter the fixture in good spirits after their victory over AFC Telford United last weekend.

The struggling Damson Park outfit have won 6 and drawn 5 of their 25 league games to date, scoring 29 goals in the process.

Burscough boss Liam Watson will be without Sean Clancy and Alan Moogan through suspension, but may reveal a healthier injury list come kick-off.

Both teams are in desperate need of a victory as they look to get their season's back on track.

Blue SQ have odds of have odds of 15/8 for the match to produce 4 or more goals.

Gainsborough Trinity v Vauxhall Motors

Vauxhall Motors travel to Gainsborough Trinity hoping to move further away from the foot of the table.

Vauxhall have struggled this season and a win would go a long way in boosting the side for the final stretch of the season.

Gainsborough too have had a poor season. They currently sit dangerously above the relegation zone and a win would be a major boost as they look for mid-table safety.

Both side's have been somewhat goal-shy this campaign, so expect a close encounter.

Blue SQ have odds of 11/1 for the match to end goalless.

Harrogate Town v Barrow

Harrogate Town will look to continue their pursuit of top spot on the league table when they clash with mid-table Barrow.

Barrow will arrive at Wetherby Road having suffered just one loss in their last ten league fixtures.

Away from Holker Street they have won two, drawn six and lost four matches so far this season. Their last outing was on Tuesday evening when they beat Blyth Spartans.

The club's have already met during the current campaign, a last minute goal in a 2-2 draw rescuing a point for Town at Holker Street during September 2007.

Barrow's last visit to Wetherby Road was on 14 April 2007 when the game also ended as a draw, the final score being 1-1.

Blue SQ have odds of 33/1 for Barrow to win the match 3-2.

Hucknall v Southport

Lowly Hucknall entertain high-flying Southport as the home side go in search of some much needed points.

Hucknall sit dangerously close to the relegation zone and nothing less than a victory will be good enough if they are to fight off relegation.

Southport, however, have real aspirations of claiming the title this season and will see this clash as the ideal opportunity to close the gap on leaders Kettering.

The Sandgrounders have been on fire in front of goal this season, while the home side have been poor defensively. Expect a few goals, and maybe an upset, in what is sure to be an open match.

Blue SQ have odds of 12/5 for Hucknall to win the match.

Hyde United v Alfreton Town

Alfreton will be hoping it is a case of third time lucky as they look to get back in action following two home game postponements in the space of three days.

The Reds are scheduled to return to Blue Square Conference North league action with a trip to face high-flying Hyde United.

Latest signing, defender Robert Pacey, is added to the squad along with striker Paul Clayton who was ineligible for both of the cancelled games in the FA Trophy and Derbyshire Senior Cup on Tuesday and Thursday night respectively.

Manager Nicky Law is still without the injured Kris Bowler and suspended trio of Brian Cusworth, Danny Reet and Anton Brown.

Hyde are seeking a first win in five league games, whilst Alfreton will be aiming for a first away win in four league outings.

There is also a small matter of revenge following the Tameside club's 3-0 win at the Impact Arena in mid October but it will be a difficult task as Hyde are also the division's top scorers with 55 goals from their 24 outings.

The Tigers currently occupy the final play-off place in fifth place with 44 points, 12 more than the Reds who are now 12th.

Blue SQ have odds of 14/1 for the match to end in a 2-2 draw.

Kettering v Stalybridge Celtic

Saturday's clash brings together two form side's in the shape of leaders Kettering and promotion chasing Stalybridge Celtic.

Kettering will be without John Dempster for the match through suspension, while Mark Rawle is suffering from a persistent injury.

Celtic are missing Barrie Keeling with a broken arm, but their squad is otherwise fully-fit and without suspension.

Both club's have been in fine form in front of goal this season, so expect a few goals in what should be an entertaining clash.

Blue SQ have odds of 6/4 for Kettering to be in the lead at both half-time and full-time.

Redditch United v Hinckley

Hinckley go into the clash with Redditch United nervously looking over their shoulders towards the bottom of the table.

The struggling club have picked up just 20 points in their 22 matches so far this season, and although they have a few games in hand over the club's around them, a victory at Redditch is imperative.

United, on the other hand, are not safe from relegation either. They have just 29 points from 24 games.

Both side's have struggled in attack this season, so it is safe to say that this match should be a close one.

Blue SQ have odds of 13/5 for the match to end in a draw.

Tamworth v Blyth Spartans

Tamworth boss Gary Mills has five new signings available for selection for the match against Blyth Spartans.

Marrison, Reed, Evans, Foster and Cisak are all available, while Chris Nurse returns from suspension.

Adie Smith and Craig McAughtrie both require fitness tests before the clash as they are both rated as injury doubts.

Blyth will look to avenge their FA Trophy defeat at the hands of the Lambs last weekend, a match which they lost 1-0.

Both side's are sitting dangerously close to the drop zone and victory for either outfit will go a long way in easing fears of relegation.

Blue SQ have odds of 6/1 for the match to end in a 1-1 draw.

Worcester City v Workington

Worcester City meet Workington in a mid-table clash which could be the catalyst which both teams need to re-ignite their season.

Both side's have struggled for form this season and this will be seen by both side's as the perfect opportunity to climb up the table.

Neither side has been particularly spectacular in front of goal, so the match will more than likely be settled by the odd goal in a tight encounter.

Blue SQ have odds of 13/2 for Worcester to win the match 1-0.
