Wins for Droylsden and Alfreton

Droylsden put themselves in a strong position for the second leg of the Blue Square North play-offs, along with Alfreton who bagged an away goal against Workington.

The Bloods broke the deadlock in the 71st minute thanks to midfielder Alex Meechan and doubled their tally ten minutes later when striker Tony Gray struck home from the penalty spot.

Workington were unable to make their home advantage count as 54th minute goal from Liam Hearn helped Alfreton to a vital first-leg victory.

Wednesday's Blue Square North play-off results:

Droylsden 2-0 Fleetwood Town

Workington 0-1 Alfreton Town
