League leaders Fleetwood Town got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Hinckley United.

The Fleet lost two in a row to allow Southport to close in on them and having played three games more than the Sandgrounders, it was a much needed victory.

The game was done and dusted in the first half as Adam Warlow got on the scoresheet after just 10 minutes with Sean Clancy adding a second eight minutes before half time.

Southport, meanwhile could only manage a 0-0 draw with relegation-threatened Gainsborough at Haig Avenue on an off day for Liam Watson's side.

Alfreton Town had no such worries as they saw off Gloucester 3-1 with goals from Paul Clayton on the hour mark, Jordan Hall, just two minutes after the half-time break and Liam Hearn in the 54th minute before Matt Rose scored a consolation goal three minutes later.

Droylsden will be fearing for their play-off place after losing 2-1 to lowly Hyde.

Scott Mooney opened the scoring in the 32nd minute for the Tigers with Chris Lynch's 83rd minute winner canceling out Tony Gray's 59th minute equaliser.

The Bloods have the same points tally (46) as Eastwood Town and AFC Telford with a host of teams all in contention for their fifth-place berth - although both sides failed to take advantage of their slip as Telford were held to a 0-0 draw by Solihull Moors while Eastwood Town drew 0-0 with Stafford Rangers.

Elsewhere, Northwich Victoria beat Blyth Spartans 1-0 to edge closer to the play-off places with Jamie Vermiglio netting the only goal after 51 minutes while Corby thrashed second-from-bottom Vauxhall Motors 4-1.

The Motormen had actually taken a 46 minute lead through Carl Macauley but two doubles, from Leon Mettam and Jack Defty put paid to any hopes they had of earning any points from the tie. Mettam scored his first after 48 minutes before Defty got in on the act on 53 minutes. Mettam then made it three after 55 minutes with Defty adding a fourth with ten minutes to go.

Bottom-club Harrogate Town endured another miserable afternoon as they went down 4-0 to Stalybridge Celtic with Jody Banim on target after 38 minutes before Lee Dodgson made it two just after the break. Michael Carr added a third on 64 minutes with Banim roundeing off the tie with his second and Celtic's fourth with 15 minutes of the match remaining.

Redditch and Ilkeston Town drew 2-2 in the final game with Shane Benjamin netting a double on 54 and 69 minutes to cancel out Charlie O'Loughlin's second minute strike and Gary Ricketts' 39th minute effort.
