Strugglers Redditch United and relegation-threatened Vauxhall Motors both boosted their survival prospects with vital victories on Tuesday evening.
Ilkeston Town moved up to mid-table after coming out on top against Corby Town in a five-goal thriller at New Manor Ground.
Corby drew first blood through defender Paul Mayo in the 17th minute but Ilkeston forward Amari Morgan-Smith levelled restored parity from the penalty spot just before the stroke of half-time.
The visitors reclaimed the lead in the 53rd minute through Ricky Millar but Morgan-Smith levelled the scores for second time with an 80th minute penalty to ensure a tense finish.
And with the momentum in their favour, Ilkeston claimed the lead in the 85th minute through to midfielder Josh Burge and held firm to claim all three points.
Hyde United find themselves hovering just above the dreaded drop zone after slumping to a heavy defeat at the hands of Solihull Moors at Damson Park.
The hosts opened their account through midfielder Tim Gould in the 15th minute and Simon Johnson doubled their tally in the 25th minute before bagging his seconds of the game with a 73rd minute strike.
Redditch United moved up to 17th place in the Blue Square North standings with a 1-0 win against Stafford Rangers at Marston Road.
The match looked to be heading for a goalless draw but the Reds were awarded a penalty in the 88th minute which was calmly dispatched by forward Joe Clarke.
Vauxhall Motors claimed a vital three points against play-off hopefuls Northwich Victoria at Motoassist Arena thanks to Brian Moogan's 35th minute penalty.
