FA Trophy Third Round Wrap

Blue Square North side Workington were celebrating a Blue Square Premier scalp on Saturday evening after their fantastic 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon away from home.

Nathan Elder and Danny Kedwell were on target for the Dons but a double from Jonny Wright and Shaun Vipond's 86th minute winner sealed the tie.

Current holders of the FA Trophy and Blue Square Premier league leaders Stevenage Borough showed their class with a 4-1 victory over Blue Square South third-placed side Dover Athletic.

Shaun Welford got his side's challenge off to the perfect start with his first half goal but the lead was short lived as first Tim Sills equalised before Chris Beardsley put his side into the lead going into the break.

Michael Bostwick and Yemi Odubade put the outcome beyond doubt with their second-half strikes.

Blue Square Premier side York City edged out Blue Square North's Corby Town via a disputable first half penalty. Corby matched their opponents for the entire match but the referee adjudged Dave Deeney to have handled after Michael Gash's volley hit against the full-back.

Andy Ferrell converted the spot-kick much to the relief of the home fans.

Blue Square Premier side Oxford United emerged as 3-1 winners against Blue Square South side Chelmsford City.

Francis Green opened the scoring for the U's in the first half with Jack Midson adding a quick-fire double in the second period.

Chelmsford scored a late consolation goal from a Dave Rainford penalty but missed their second one in stoppage time, although with no time on the clock, it would have made little difference.
