Fleetwood Town opened up a three-point lead over Southport with their 2-0 win over lowly Farsley Celtic.

Town have played two games more than the Sandgrounders and three more than Hinckley in third so every point is vital going into the half way stage in the season.

Adam Warlow and Jamie Milligan scored the goals after 63 and 73 minutes respectively with the result leaving Celtic in 17th place with 22 points from their 21 games.

Hinckley Utd will be ruing their 3-1 loss to second-from bottom Harrogate Town, especially after going 1-0 up in the first half.

Neil Cartwright opened the scoring after 35 minutes but Harrogate emerged for the second half a much more focused outfit and equalised through Peter Knox just after the hour mark before Jason Bradley put his side in the lead with seven minutes remaining.

Knox sealed the tie with his second in the 88th minute to lift them three points clear of Vauxhall Motors but still two points adrift of Hyde, who have played a game less.

That loss coupled with Eastwood Town's 2-1 win over Redditch, saw Town move level on points Hinckley although they have played a single game more.

Matt Blair had got his side off to the perfect start with a goal in the first minute but Town responded strongly and won the tie thanks to a brace from Danny Holland after 30 and 78 minutes.

Alfreton Town were another side who slipped up in their quest for a play-off place as they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Solihull Moors. Liam Hearn thought his 24th minute goal had sealed all three points but it wasn't to be as Indy Khela spoiled the party with a 90th minute equaliser.

With just four points separating AFC Telford from the final play-off spot, the Bucks are still very much in the hunt. But their aspirations took a blow this Tuesday as they were defeated 2-0 by Stafford Rangers. Boro were 12 points off the top five but have reduced that now to just nine leaving it all to play for.

Warwick Alexander and Nick Wellecomme were the scorers with their goals coming after 64 and 76 minutes.

In the only other game of the day, Northwich hammered Blyth Spartans 5-1 to move one place above their opponents into 12th.

Ian Herring got onto the scoresheet after just two minutes before Paul Brayson netted six minutes later. Michael Aspin regained his side's lead on 25 minutes with Herring grabbing his second and Northwich's fourth after 58 minutes. James Spencer rounded off the scoring when he netted with five minutes of the match remaining.

In the only game in the Blue Square South, Bromley narrowly defeated Basingstoke 3-2 to move up into seventh place with 38 points from their 24 matches, leaving Basingstoke in 14th place with 32 points from 25 games played.

Rob Gillman opened the scoring for Bromley after 15 minutes with Richard Butler adding a second with eight minutes of the first half remaining. Tom Williamson then got a goal back for Basingstoke as the first half drew to a close before Gary Frewen found an equaliser on 77 minutes. But with just three minutes to play Butler popped up to grab a second and seal all three points for his new side.
