Saturday's Blue Square North wrap

Southport extended their lead at the top of the table thanks to an emphatic 3-0 victory over Solihull Motors at Haig Avenue.

Matty McGinn netted a brace (55th & 63rd minute), while Chris Lever added a third seven minutes from time to send the Sandgrounders eight points clear at the top.

Eastwood Town applied some pressure at the summit after edging relegation strugglers Harrogate Town 1-0 at Coronation Park. The Badgers prevailed thanks to Ian Holmes' decisive penalty on the stroke of half-time.

Droylsden and Hinckley, however, dropped valuable points after playing to a goalless draw at the Butcher's Arms.

Fleetwood Town, likewise, had to make do with a point following a 0-0 stalemate with AFC Telford at New Bucks Head.

There were, however, goals aplenty at Throstle Nest where Gareth Grant's late winner saw Farsley Celtic oust Redditch United 4-3.

Lee Francis bagged a brace for the visitors but it was ultimately not enough in a thrilling see-saw contest.

The game ignited when Roy Stammer opened the scoring for the Villagers in the 24th minute. Andy Ducros drew level shortly before the break and then United stole ahead through Francis' double strike (48,72). However, Lee Ellington (82) and Grant (85) struck late to bag the points for the home team.

In another dramatic finish, Corby scored two late goals to trump Vauxhall Motors 4-2 at Motassist Arena. Josh Wilson gave the hosts an early lead in the eighth minute but saw his effort cancelled out by Leon Mattam in the 20th minute.

Jack Defty then fired the Steelmen in front on the hour-mark. Karl Noon drew level ten minutes later but Steve Towers (82) and Defty (86) surfaced late on to claim the spoils.
