Saturday's Blue Square North Wrap

Droylsden's advantage at the top of the Blue Square North has been erased after their loss this Saturday as all but one of the chasing pack record good wins.

Only third-placed Eastwood Town faltered as the league's bottom two sides, at the start of play, both recorded vital wins.

Gareth Arnison netted after just seven minutes for Workington to condemn the Bloods to a 1-0 defeat leaving them level on points with Southport, who defeated AFC Telford thanks to an 18th minute goal from Chris Simm and a 23rd minute Ciaran Kilheeney penalty.

Droylsden remain top of the league but only by virtue of a superior goal difference.

Second from bottom Vauxhall Motors picked up a valuable three points with their 3-2 defeat of Eastwood.

Mark Hume opened the scoring after just seven minutes for the away side, who held on until the 57th minute when Josh Wilson grabbed and equaliser. Tom Grice then put his side ahead three minutes later with Josh Hine giving his side some breathing space after 62 minutes. Hume threatened to spoil the party when he grabbed a second with eight minutes to go but Vauxhall held on for the win.

Fleetwood Town have Lee Dodgson and Gareth Seddon to thank for their come-from-behind victory at mid-table Gloucester. Marc Richards had put the Tigers ahead after 52 minutes but Dodgson found an eqauliser in the 72nd minute before Gareth Seddon claimed all three points in injury time.

Stalybridge added to Stafford Rangers' woes with a 2-0 victory courtesy of a Matty Barlow strike after 13 minutes and a 46th minute Conner Jennings goal. The result leaves Rangers languishing near the drop zone while Celtic join Fleetwood and Corby on 24 points, just one point behind leaders Droylsden and Southport.

Corby made light work of Hyde with a 3-1 win that sees them move from sixth place to fifth and Hyde drop from 12th to 13th place in the league.

Steve Towers put his side in the lead after 24 minutes before adding a second with 15 minutes to play. Leon Mettam killed off the tie after 87 minutes with his goal but Scott McNiven had the final say as he grabbed a consolation at the death.

Elsewhere, Blyth Spartans smashed Hinckley Utd 6-1 with goals from Michael Tait, Stephen Harrison, Mark Doninger, Paul Brayson and a brace from Ian Graham.

Gainsborough and Solihull Moors drew 0-0, Alfreton Town put four past lowly Harrogate Town, Northwich held Ilkeston Town to a 1-1 draw with both goals coming form the penalty spot while Farsley Celtic overcame fellow relegation strugglers Redditch 2-1.
