Harrogate moved to the top of the Blue Square North table after their victory over Blyth Spartans on Wednesday afternoon.
Harrogate Town moved to the top of the Blue Square North table with a victory at Blyth Spartans on Boxing Day.
Both teams took some time to get their natural games going, and Harrogate should have opened the scoring, but the home side defended well and kept them at bay.
They did grab the goal which had been coming for some time in the 67th minute, when Dave Merris was hit home from close range.
Tamworth and Telford could not provide the fans with a thrilling boxing Day clash as their encounter ended in a stalemate.
Both side's had opportunities to grab what would have been the winning goal, but neither had the necessary quality in the final-third to score.
Worcester continued their push towards the top of the table with a victory over Redditch at St Georges Lane.
Redditch should have equalised late on, but Jamie Price was in fine form to deny the visitors a share of the points.
Kettering put in a performance to remember as they ran out comfortable winners against Solihull.
John Dempster opened the scoring for the visitors in the 20th minute before Tom Kemp doubled their advantage seven minutes later.
Darren Middleton pulled one back from the penalty spot shortly before half-time, but when Brett Solkhon restored Kettering's two-goal lead in the 55th minute, there was no way back for the home side.
Barrow were made to fight hard for the points on Boxing Day as they ran out 2-0 victors against Vauxhall Motors.
Matt Henny opened the scoring for the visitors in the first-half, although the home side deserved something for their efforts, although it wasn't to be as the side's went into half-time with the score at 1-0.
The hosts had the run of the game in the second-half, but it was Barrow who put the result beyond doubt, largely against the run of play.
Steve McNulty was the hero as he netted from the penalty spot, a minute from the final whistle.
Southport handed their fans at Haig Avenue a belated Christmas present as they beat a resilient Burscough on Boxing Day.
Paul Barratt was the hero of the day as he snatched the three-points for the home side in the 59th minute.
Burscough did match their host's, but it wasn't going to be their day as chance after chance went begging.
Nuneaton Borough ruined Hinckley United's Christmas by thrashing them at Manor Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The home side grabbed the opening goal early on, thanks to a fine team move which was finished off by Jordan Stepien.
Craig McIllain, Tommy Curtis and Brian Quailey rounded off the romp in superb fashion and secured the much needed points to the delight of the home support.
Two early goals from Mark Smyth were enough to seal the points for Leigh RMI against Workington.
Smyth scored in the 3rd minute after some superb team play, and he grabbed his second three minutes later.
Workington did grab a consolation goal late on when Craig Johnston found the net, but it was never going to be enough as the home side cruised to victory.
Hyde lost their spot at the top of the table when they were beaten by Stalybridge on Boxing Day.
Alex Meechan opened the scoring for the visitors in the 16th minute before Chris Hall doubled their advantage eight minutes later.
Andrew Smart made it 3-0 in the 78th minute, but the home side did grab a consolation late on when Steve Payne put the ball into his own net.
Kyle McFadzean scored a late equaliser to earn Alfreton a point against Hucknall.
The first-half was a rather dire affair with both side's lacking the necessary quality needed to find the back of the net.
The second-half, however, was a completely different affair.
Ben Kistell put the home side into the lead in the 51st minute, and it was 2-0 nine minutes later when Daniel Bacon found the net.
The visitors staged a semi-comeback five minutes later when Chris Bowler scored, and the comeback was complete in the 90th minute when McFadzean was on hand to score.
Gainsborough had to fight hard for a well-earned victory against Boston United on Wednesday afternoon.
Wes Parker was the hero for the visitors as he grabbed the only goal of the game in the 26th minute thanks to some fine team play.
