Weir-Daley relishing Pilgrims return

Spencer Weir-Daley has expressed his delight after rejoining Boston United and netting a goal for the side to mark his return.

The 26-year-old was on target for the Pilgrims in the FA Trophy on Saturday, when they slumped to a 4-2 defeat at Dartford.

Weir-Daley endured a difficult six months at AFC Telford before jumping at the opportunity to play for United, where he plied his trade between 2009 and the summer of 2011.

"I had two or three offers and I was making my mind up when I got a call from Jason (Lee, United manager)," the striker told the Boston Standard.

"As soon as I got the call it made my mind up, I knew Boston was the right move for me."

On his strike at Dartford, he added: "There's nothing better than scoring a goal - and especially scoring a goal for Boston. I really enjoyed that.

"It's great to be celebrating with my team-mates. That's something I haven't done for a while.

"I know a lot of the players so I feel at home."
