Vics boss pleased to secure point

Northwich Victoria manager Andy Preece admitted he was "a lot happier" after his side managed a 1-1 draw at Hickley United on Saturday.

Preece wanted a big reaction from his players following their 5-2 home drubbing at the hands of Droylsden on Wednesday and was not disappointed.

"I'm a lot happier today," he told the Northwich Guardian.

"I think the draw was a fair result. We could have won it but I'm not certain they can say the same thing.

"Most important is that we bounced back from the poor performance and result on Wednesday and that's all I can ask.

"Possibly we should have made more of the opportunities we created in the first half, when we were the better team and deserved to be in front."
