Blyth Spartans have added to their ranks by signing Drogheda United striker Guy Bates.
The 24-year-old has played all over the world with spells in the UK, Australia, Belgium and the Republic of Ireland.
Born in Newcastle, Bates began his career with the Toon before moving to the Newcastle United Jets in the A-League.
His stay though was short-lived and a move to Darlington followed, but after just nine appearances, he was on his way again.
KV Oostende were the next club to employ his services with spells with Drogheda United, R.A.A. Louviéroise and a return to Drogheda United before ending up in the Blue Square North.
Fans of Drogheda will remember Bates for scoring the winner against Cork City in a match that secured the County Lough club the League of Ireland Premier Division title in 2007.
