Pilgrims finally get their man

Gainsborough Trinity defender Wes Parker has completed his move to fellow Blue Square North outfit Boston United.

The 24-year-old put pen to paper on his deal at the Staffsmart Stadium late on Thursday, bringing an end to a year-long pursuit from Pilgrims boss Tommy Taylor.

Taylor told the Boston Standard: "Wes is a terrific signing.

"It's taken time to get him to join us, but I think it's been worth the wait. Wes has shown this season why we were so keen to sign him - and I'm sure he will prove to be a great acquisition.

"This is the first signing of the summer and I'm confident further additions will follow in the next few days."
