Boston United striker Keiran Leabon is subject to interest from potential suitors, putting doubts over his York Street future.
19-year-old Leabon has proved a major success since his free transfer move to United last summer from Ipswich Town.
Blessed with strength, pace and an eye for goal, Leabon put those attributes to good effect over the season from both wide and forward positions to contribute 10 goals to the cause.
Although frozen out somewhat towards the end of the season by Tommy Taylor, Leabon is viewed as extremely exciting for the future by the United boss who was quick to offer him a new contract as soon as the season ended.
"I don't think you can afford to let him go. He will only get better and stronger," Taylor told the Sports Echo.
Taylor is remaining realistic about his chances of holding onto the attacker with the revelation that clubs from higher leagues have been in touch with the player's agent.
"However, he has had clubs asking his representative about him and if he gets offered a better deal, I am not going to stand in his way, but we will be entitled to a fee," Taylor added.
