Workington midfielder Dave Hewson has refuted claims that he is set to quit the Blue Square North club because of consistent injury problems.
The former Gretna midfielder has seen his first-team involvement curtailed this season after suffering a serious ankle injury in pre-season.
He made just seven starts and four substitute appearances for the Reds this campaign and suffered another ankle injury recently.
It was speculated that this was perhaps the injury that would end Hewson's career but he has since denied those claims.
"I have damaged ligaments in my left ankle after a collision in the recent match with Burscough," Hewson told the News & Star.
"It was one of those things that can happen in a tackle and wasn't anybody's fault.
"That's not the ankle that has caused me problems in the past. I broke the right one against Carlisle United in a pre-season game two years ago and also damaged the ligaments in that ankle at Bury this season.
"I think I have been unlucky with injuries but it's never made me consider finishing with the game."
