Paul Ellender
Fresh on the heels of Gainsborough's management team declaring their desire to finish ahead of United this season, Paul Ellender has revealed he has no interest in where United's county rivals finish.
Trinity manager Steve Charles and director of football Peter Swann said this week they were keen to see their side finish higher than United come the end of the season, further heightening tense feelings between the two clubs.
With each side recording a victory on the others ground and ill feeling from the Wes Parker contract situation and United's approach from Liam Nimmo earlier this year, hostilites have heated up between the two clubs over the last 12 months.
However Ellender was keen to play down any problems with his former club, who also tried to sign him last summer, noting that he doesn't really care where Trinity finish with United his only focus.
"I'm not bothered whether we finish ahead of them (Trinity), we just want to finish as high as we can", Ellender told the Sports Echo.
"Of course they'll want to finish ahead of us because we're the bigger club
"But it doesn't make any difference to me.
"We just want to go out on a high and maybe break into the top 10."
