Stags striker loaned to Telford

Mansfield Town striker Ian Holmes has joined Blue Square North outfit Telford United on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old frontman joined the Stags from Matlock Town for an undisclosed fee last summer and has since made 16 first-team appearances, scoring three goals in the process.

"Ian won't be figuring in my first team plans for the rest of this season," Mansfield boss Paul Holland told his club's official website.

"He has struggled to get into the first team and needs to get games under his belt.

"He came to me requesting a loan move and I am sure he will be a good acquisition for Telford."
