Wrexham v AFC Telford United

Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell may name himself in the starting line-up to face AFC Telford in Sunday's Blue Square Bet Premier clash.

The league leaders struck two unanswered goals against the Bucks on Boxing Day, and the Welsh side will be backing themselves to repeat the result this weekend.

Striker Danny Wright is set to miss out for the Dragons and Morrell may recover from a groin strain in time to fill the void left up front at Racecourse Ground.

Winger Glen Little, whose short-term deal ends next weekend, is set to be offered a further one month extension but Lee Fowler has handed in a transfer request because he is not enjoying life at the club.

"Danny has a stiff back after getting smashed early in the second half and struggling through the rest of the game," Morrell told the Daily Post.

"Apart from him, there are a few bumps and bruises, although nothing major, so I expect everyone to be available this weekend, including myself.

"I've been struggling with my groin a bit and I had a few days off with that. And the lads have been doing great so I just wanted to get it right before I'm back in contention.

"The difficult thing is trying to fit everything in and when you are sat with a machine on you, you feel that you should be doing something else. So I have to fit the treatment in and around everything else that needs to be done - it's not easy but it has to be done.

"I'll train towards the end of the week and hopefully I'll be fully fit for the game.

"Not being involved on match days is very different for me and I don't know what to do with myself. That's new and I'm enjoying it but hopefully I'll be back on the bench or playing, sooner rather than later. That's what I want to be doing if I can."

Meanwhile, defender Robbie Williams has left Telford to join Lincoln City on loan until the end of the season while Phil Trainer is suspended for his red card on Monday, Jay Smith is also banned.

However, boss Andy Sinton has been boosted by news that striker Adam Proudlock would step up his return to fitness next week after breaking his ankle in October.
